Applications will be available in January, 2025 and will remain open until April, 2025.  The final round of auditions will be in person by invitation in April, 2025.

Video Submissions

Video submissions are required when submitting applications. You must submit a video link via YouTube or Vimeo featuring two different selections in the application. Otherwise, your application will not be considered for the second round of auditions. Questions regarding applications may be directed to Dr. Lisa Vickers, BFHSVS Manager, at HSVoice@HGO.org.

Additionally, applicants are required to submit two (2) recommendation forms (with optional letters of recommendation to support) with their application to your recommenders and have them email it along with their letter to HSVoice@HGO.org by April 1, 2025.

Appropriate Repertoire To Use For Your Audition

Appropriate Repertoire to Use for Your Audition. Students should consult with their current private voice teacher or choir director when selecting their music. Suitable repertoire can be found on the University Scholastic League’s (UIL) prescribed music list at:  http://wwwdev.uiltexas.org/pml/.

In addition, musical theater pieces written in the golden-age style (before 1970), or solo versions of spirituals or religious hymns may be appropriate for singers who have not studied privately. All pieces should be accompanied by piano and performed from memory.

BFHSVS Masterclasses and Recitals are open to the public for the 2024-2025 season! 

To attend a BFHSVS masterclass, please register by 12 PM on the Thursday before the class. We WILL NOT admit community members who do not register before the deadline.
